Project Description
The Experiential Learning Hub at the University of Toronto, located on the 3rd and 4th floors of the 29-storey building, is a dynamic space designed to foster meaningful connections between students and industry leaders. Occupying 14,000 square feet, the hub includes a mix of public-facing and administrative spaces, such as reception areas, meeting rooms, workstations, and student interview rooms. The design supports flexible learning environments and collaborative workspaces, helping to create a professional atmosphere conducive to experiential learning.
The project places a strong emphasis on sustainability, targeting LEED V4.1 ID+C Gold Certification. The engineering and design solutions prioritize energy efficiency and wellness, aligning with the University’s commitment to providing innovative, sustainable learning environments.
The layout encourages interaction through multi-functional spaces like "the Workroom," an expandable event area that accommodates seminars and presentations, reflecting the University's mission to integrate academic learning with real-world experience. Inspired by Japanese gardens, the space combines calm, natural elements with a professional setting, enhancing student and faculty engagement while meeting the highest standards of environmental and social responsibility.
