Project Description
The Wellington Market food hall at The Well in downtown Toronto is a landmark retail and restaurant destination that enhances the vibrancy and foot traffic within this new 7.6-acre mixed-use complex, featuring over 50 vendors across 70,000 square feet.
Mulvey & Banani’s scope of services includes Electrical Engineering from our Tenant Interiors team, ICT and Security Engineering, Audio Visual and Lighting Design for a diverse array of retail and restaurant vendors. The security enhancements included installing video surveillance equipment and implementing access control measures. The AV work involved re-adjusting the base building loudspeakers and supplementing them as needed. The lighting team worked closely with the interior design group to develop a lighting strategy that complimented the industrial spin on the custom fixtures while maintaining the sources as true LED. Additionally, our tenant electrical team was actively involved in ensuring the electrical requirements for the space were met effectively.
We collaborated to create a dynamic and welcoming environment that pays tribute to Toronto’s rich culinary history while introducing fresh and exciting offerings to the local food scene and community.
Designed by GPA Architects, the space offers a European-inspired and authentic market experience. Our innovative lighting solutions and strategic design elements ensure a seamless transition to the lower ground level of The Well's Retail Walk.
The Wellington Market significantly boosts the retail component of The Well. We are proud to have been a part of bringing this project to life.
