Project Description
TABLE is set to revolutionize and redefine the dining experience in Toronto, celebrating the city’s rich culinary and cultural scene. Located on the fourth floor of the iconic CIBC SQUARE complex at 81 Bay Street, TABLE spans an impressive 35,000 square feet, offering a dynamic and high-end dining environment that seamlessly blends food, art, and community. Every corner of TABLE has been thoughtfully curated to provide a unique and inspiring setting, making it an ideal destination for everything from intimate private dinners to large-scale corporate events.
The lighting design at TABLE plays a pivotal role in elevating this space beyond the traditional food court experience. With an innovative, high 90 CRI track lighting system for both general and accent lighting, the lighting design highlights architectural features and enhances the ambiance. The project is a testament to how effective lighting can transform a space, creating an atmosphere that adapts to various functions within the hall.
The design process was a collaborative effort with interior designers, aiming to achieve a dramatic yet flexible lighting scheme. This included integrating lighting into bookshelf slats, requiring precise LED lengths and careful wiring to remote drivers. Custom and decorative lighting elements harmonize across the hall, fostering a visually appealing and welcoming environment that caters to diverse experiences. High-ceiling areas promote interaction with open lighting, while lower-ceiling sections provide a secluded feel for intimate dining.
The lighting at TABLE skillfully adapts to different settings, from business meetings to social events, with varying illumination levels to set the appropriate mood. By addressing technical and aesthetic challenges, the design balances artistic expression and practical functionality, transforming dining into a memorable experience. Environmentally conscious choices further reflect the project’s commitment to sustainability, showcasing a well-integrated and thoughtful approach to lighting design.
