Kempegowda International Airport - Terminal 2

General Info

About the Project

Project Description

Serving Bangalore, the first phase of the new T-2 building will cater to approximately 25 million passengers per annum (MPPA), measuring 255,000 square meters in area. Combined with the current capacity of T1, up to a total of 65 MPPA will be served upon completion of T-2 Phase 2, repositioning South India’s busiest airport as an important hub for international travelers and cargo. The expanded, centralized departure areas will include the addition of 30 check-in counters, 6 emigration counters and 11 security counters serving domestic and international passengers. International gates will also be added, designed specifically for newer wide-bodied aircraft such as the Airbus A380, as well as a more efficient baggage delivery system with dedicated island carousels.

Electrical: Electrical engineering services were provided for the design of a new terminal wide fire alarm system with connections back to the existing T1 fire alarm system as well as a local airside fire station.

Building Intelligence

Building intelligence engineering services were provided to allow for the seamless integration and interaction with over forty (40) building and airport operations specific systems. A passenger experience mobile application specific for the new T2 was designed and implemented.

ICT

ICT engineering services were provided to allow for a terminal wide building converged network for all building, airport and tenant systems. The new T2 network was extended and routed to the existing T1 network to allow for seamless operations across both terminals with a common new data centre in T2.
