Garrison Crossing (formerly Fort York Pedestrian and Cycle Bridge)

General Info

About the Project

Project Description

Spanning 300 metres across two rail corridors, the new pedestrian and cycle bridge is a vital connection between the Niagara/ Liberty Village and Fort York/ Waterfront neighbourhoods, Canada’s first stainless steel bridge. The design incorporates minimal, concealed LED sources to delicately light the structure and remain sensitive to the natural landscape. Discrete pole lights in conjunction with integrated hand rail lighting don’t distract from the panoramic view of the city’s growth from the very place of origin.
