Bob Lymer - P.Eng., Director
“Only dead fish go with the flow”, and “make it happen, shock everyone” are Bob’s go-to mantras.
Bob’s personal experience on large, complex multi-stakeholder projects has helped shape MBII’s direction as a multifaceted building systems engineering consultancy. He is an industry expert in electrical, critical power and security systems engineering across all sectors. Gregarious and entertaining, Bob was president of MBII from 2008-2019. He joined MBII in 1987 after graduating from University of Toronto (Bachelor of Applied Science, Electrical Engineering).
Bob is working on the third and final (north) tower of the Bay Adelaide Centre in Toronto, building on the successes of BAC West and East towers. Other significant private developments include the CIBC Square – Toronto, Deloitte Headquarters – Montreal. Bob spent 7+ years working on the Lester B. Pearson International Airport, New Terminal Development project in Toronto where he honed his expertise in complex systems design and engineering. Bob first saw the potential for large, complex, overlapping system design while working on LPIA T1 project, and this intense experience was quickly followed by additional airport projects around the world, thereby helping MBII emerge as experts in the field (Kempegowda International Airport – Terminal 2, Mumbai International Airport, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi, Kenya, Adam Airport, Sultanate of Oman).
