Rick’s “let’s get real, but have fun” attitude permeates his professional and personal manner.  A force to be reckoned with on the construction site, Rick is MBII’s Manager of Contract Administration, leading a team of expert site reps on projects across all scales and sectors. Over his 30+ year career, Rick has acquired expertise across commercial and residential towers, airports, cultural facilities, sport venues and hospital projects. Highlights of his extensive portfolio include: Bay Adelaide Centre – West and East towers, the three tower Southcore Financial Centre, Markham Stouffville Hospital, Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport- New Termimal, LPIA- New Terminal 1, Ripley’s Aquarium, Toronto, Vaughan Civic Centre and 1 York Street, Toronto. Rick was educated at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and holds a license as a Journeyman Electrician. He has been a part of the MBII team since 1986.

Moe is an advocate of creative thinking in engineering, capable of citing several incidents when he was called upon to think “outside the box”.  Moe’s practice area is interior fit-ups, he is a senior team lead primarily for high-end legal and financial tenancies throughout Toronto’s downtown core and the GTA.  Moe graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Engineering Science Degree (Electrical).  Beginning his career as a service technician, followed by some international work opportunities in Texas and then Dubai, Moe joined MBII in 1999.  Portfolio highlights include interiors for Deloitte, Wells Fargo, Gardiner Roberts LLP, Bell Canada (all within Bay Adelaide Centre East), Scotia Bank Conference Centre (11 Adelaide Street West), and TD Lego, 77 Bloor Street West, Toronto.

Peter’s inspired, methodical approach to engineering is based on targeting one or two areas to improve upon, or innovate, should the opportunity arise.  Partial to data centres and infrastructure design, Peter has emerged as an alternative energy system and critical power engineering specialist.  Peter joined MBII in 2008, as a graduate of the University of Western Ontario (Bachelor of Engineering Science, Electrical Engineering).

Remus digs deep into end-user needs and the intricacies of each project from which he takes cues for the design solution.  Complex university and college projects are the mainstream for Remus, however he also excels at airports, sport and recreation facilities, mixed-use and resort projects. Remus recently completed Mohawk College’s Joyce Centre for Partnership and Innovation (a net-zero facility), and is currently working on the redevelopment of Bermuda’s L. F. Wade International Airport. Remus earned a Bachelor of Applied Science, Electrical Engineering at the University of Toronto and joined MBII in 2006.

Ian is a healthcare and lab project expert with an acute sense of accountability to the project and stakeholders, believing there is “no tolerance for error in engineering”.

In addition to healthcare, Ian’s expertise encompasses biosensitive facilities, including aquariums. A seasoned project manager, Ian is well-versed in the complexity and demands of large P3/ DBFM projects. Currently working on the Michael Garron Hospital – New Patient Tower, Ian has a large portfolio of successful healthcare projects including, Providence Care Hospital – Kingston, Joseph Brant Hospital – Burlington, Markham Stouffville Hospital – Markham, Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, Women’s College Hospital Redevelopment, and Waypoint Centre for Mental Health. Ian joined MBII in 1998 after earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering at Lakehead University, Thunder Bay.

With MBII since 1994, one of Ron’s criteria for success is great relations with his peers, which he also describes as good friends.  Ron is the firm’s expert on mission critical ICT systems for government and banking projects that can span years, even decades.  Ron’s portfolio includes BMO Financial Group- HarrisBank, Naperville Operations Centre and Data Centre – Illinois, projects for the Ministry of Consumer and Commercial Relations and Ministry of Finance, and various projects with Canada Life. Ron is a graduate of University of Toronto (B.A.Sc.,Electrical Engineering).

Maria’s professional fortitude is the foundation of her exceptional management of the accounting department at MBII, overseeing all fiscal administration and reporting.  With the firm since 1987, Maria has transitioned the accounting department through many phases of improvement. Maria studied business administration, originally joining MBII as a bookkeeper.

Drawing from MBII’s 60+ year evolution and the enduring brand behind it, Amelia manages a full variety of marketing activities in support of outreach for new business. The design of marketing platforms, processes and materials, and the presentation of talent and capability towards the winning of quality projects are key passions. Amelia graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Architecture. She joined MBII in 2009, becoming Senior Associate in 2015.

Kevin looks for the challenge of the day with great anticipation — to hear about or see something new. Initially joining MBII as a student for four consecutive work terms, Kevin has emerged in the firm as a highly sought after and skilled project manager, taking on challenging fit-up projects with tight timelines and budgets.

Kevin was promoted to Senior Associate in September 2018. Comfortable working across all sectors, Kevin’s portfolio includes projects for KPMG, Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP, Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP, as well as CIBC, BMO and HSBC. Kevin graduated from Dalhousie University in 2011.

The application of new lighting technologies for the betterment of both design and wellness of people is one particular point of pride for Stephen in the execution of creative lighting installations.

A senior member of the Mulvey & Banani Lighting Inc. (MBL) team, Stephen has worked on notable projects such as the Deloitte Tower, Montreal, Mattamy Athletic Centre, Toronto, University of Toronto’s Daniels Faculty of Architecture and Landscape Design, Women’s College Hospital Redevelopment, Delta Hotel, Toronto and the Queen Richmond Centre West,  Toronto. Mehrdad works tirelessly behind the scenes to keep MBII’s IT operations running smoothly for a large executive team and staff. Mehrdad first joined MBII as Electrical Designer back in 1981; over the years his role transitioned from the engineering side to CAD manager and finally to his current role as full time IT Manager.

Equal parts charm, composure and superior know-how, Joel is a senior member of the Mulvey & Banani Audio Visual Inc. (MBAV) team, successfully managing AV projects for a prestigious client group. Joel joined MBII in 2012 has since been working on high-end corporate/ commercial and institutional facilities. He is a graduate of Ryerson University, with early work experience in the entertainment sector.

Project highlights for Joel include the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH), Remai Modern, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, University of Toronto Scarborough,  Highland Hall Renovation and Expansion, and several renovation expansion projects for OLG Casinos across Ontario.

Michael’s curiousity is evident in everything he does. He thrives on new opportunities and bringing the best solution to fruition. Michael joined MBII in 2008 and has been the project director on commercial projects such as Queen Richmond Centre West – Toronto, Spectrum Development – Mississauga, and several renovation/ expansion projects for IBM and within the Royal Bank Plaza. Michael obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Ryerson Polytechnic University in 2007.

After more than a decade wrapped up in the evolution of ICT systems infrastructure technology, Allan has a good sense of what’s to come next. He is a seasoned ICT project manager with a diverse portfolio ranging from commercial tenant fit-ups, sport venues, and university projects (Norton Rose Fullbright, SNC Lavalin Offices, Trent University – Bata Research & Innovation Centre, Peterborough, Providence Care Hospital, Kingston, Biosteel Centre, Toronto).  Allan joined MBII in 2008 after obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Science (Electrical Engineering) at Queen’s University.

Angad looks for a healthy mix of ‘tried and true’, and ‘new and breakthrough’ engineering strategies. Angad joined MBII after a period working in the mission critical space. He has demonstrated tremendous proficiency and skill working on such projects as Bangalore Airport, Terminal 2, Michael Garron Hospital, New Patient Tower, and York Region Administration Centre Annex. Angad studied at the University of Waterloo where he earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering.

Jeff enjoys implementing new technologies, and watching as the next innovation unfolds. He is an accomplished project director, now working on high profile mixed use projects in Toronto including CIBC Square, and The Well. Jeff earned a Bachelor of Applied Science, (Honours Electrical Engineering) at the University of Waterloo and joined MBII in 2011.
