The Mulvey & Banani head office is now located at 90 Sheppard Avenue East. We worked closely with the interiors team at B+H Architects to create a space that represents our key values, puts our staff first, and that will allow us to grow over time. We look forward to welcoming new staff, clients, and visitors to experience our new space!
In excess of 25,000 gross square feet, the design team utilized the space by implementing modern and dynamic features that support talent while integrating new innovative systems. Staff, clients and visitors are welcomed by the branded and brightly lit reception desk, custom-made digital signage in a unique horizontal 5-panel configuration, and significant hexagon-shaped ottomans – one that is a mulberry purple, a signature colour that was coined by one of the co-founders of our firm, Gerry Mulvey.
This new location was an opportunity for a complete systems and technology reset, allowing us to showcase our own disciplines and services – from innovations in lighting and lighting controls provided by Mulvey & Banani Lighting to a robust and resilient ICT network, electronic security, AV presentation, room booking, digital signage systems by Mulvey & Banani Audio Visual, and office intelligence initiatives that tie all systems together.
As an homage to the core of our business as Consulting Engineers, signature wall features were designed to create visual movement throughout the office, starting with a contemporary circuit board pattern at reception. The theme continues within each boardroom in a unique blue, textured variation that adds visual interest and as a result, the space appears more intriguing and livelier.
The high ceilings with exposed white painted ductwork and accented with simple yet intricate circadian lighting, give the office an authentic industrial feel. At the heart of the mid-rise building, the interior is an existing atrium that the design team thoughtfully incorporated into their plans to allow natural light to filter through the open-concept interior.
Spaces for gathering, socializing, and collaborating were creatively integrated into the entire floor – from smaller meeting rooms to café/lounge areas with modular furniture, as well as a games lounge complete with a ping pong table, foosball table, large-screen TV, and PlayStation.
